What's the difference between smoothing and blurring?
It's the same operation at different strengths: low values (1–4) soften noise and grain while keeping the subject recognisable; high values blur the image outright — useful for backgrounds, thumbnails or obscuring content.
Can I blur just one part of the image, like a face or number plate?
Region blur/redaction is on the roadmap. For now the effect applies to the whole image — combine with the Crop tool if you need to blur a section and paste workflows elsewhere.
Are my images uploaded to a server?
