Do I still need a favicon.ico file?
It remains the most compatible option and is what browsers request by default at the site root, so the ZIP includes a real multi-resolution .ico containing 16, 32 and 48 pixel frames — alongside modern PNG icons for everything else.
What size should my source image be?
Square and at least 512×512. A simple, high-contrast mark works far better than a detailed logo — check the 16px preview, because that's the size people actually see in a browser tab.
Where do I put the files?
Drop them all in your site's root directory, then paste the provided snippet into your page's <head>. The ZIP also contains a site.webmanifest you can adapt for installable web apps.
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. SqueezePix runs entirely in your browser — files are opened and processed on your own device and never transmitted anywhere. You can even load the page, go offline, and keep working.
