Frequently asked questions
Does cropping reduce image quality?
The pixels you keep are untouched — cropping only removes area. A small quality setting applies when saving as JPG or WebP; keep it above 90 for visually lossless results, or export PNG for fully lossless.
How do I crop to a specific ratio like 1:1 or 16:9?
Pick a ratio chip and the selection stays locked to that shape while you drag and zoom. The pixel size of your selection is shown live under the canvas.
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. SqueezePix runs entirely in your browser — files are opened and processed on your own device and never transmitted anywhere. You can even load the page, go offline, and keep working.
