Frequently asked questions
Why is my circle-cropped image saved as a PNG?
Only PNG (and WebP) can store transparency. Saving as JPG would fill the area outside the circle with solid white, which defeats the purpose — so this tool always exports PNG.
My photo isn't square — what happens in circle mode?
It's centre-cropped to a square first so the result is a true circle rather than an oval. Crop it yourself first if you want a different part of the photo in frame.
Can I add a coloured ring around my profile picture?
Yes — raise the Border slider and pick a colour. Add Padding too if you want breathing room between the ring and the photo edge.
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. SqueezePix runs entirely in your browser — files are opened and processed on your own device and never transmitted anywhere. You can even load the page, go offline, and keep working.
